Gemma Hayes - Album Launch - The Button Factory Dublin

This weekend, I had the opportunity to photograph one of my favourite artists Gemma Hayes. Gemma has just released her new album entitled "Let it break".

I first seen Gemma play live around eight or nine years ago at Whelan's and have since been a big fan. For anyone who is unfamiliar with her music, Gemma has been nominated for the mercury music prize and has won several Irish meteor awards.

For anyone looking recommendations, some standout tracks for me personally are:

Back of My Hand
Let a good thing go
Hanging around
Easy On the Eye
Undercover
Oliver
Keep running (Tokyo) (New Album)
Shock to the system  (New Album)

On stage she is as captivating as she is talented and I wish her all the best with the new album.

Leaders of Men

I have recently had the pleasure of taking live photos of new Dublin band Leaders of Men. I knew two of the guys in this band from a previous musical existence and was instantly hooked when I attended their debut show only a couple of months ago at The Workmans Club.

I genuinely believe that this band are capable of great things. They have fantastic songs, great energy and terrific charisma.

The band are in the process of recording their debut EP and I am sure there will be plenty of gig announcements in the coming weeks.

For now, please listen to song "Up Against The Wall" and be sure to visit the bands facebook page which can be found at www.facebook.com/leadersofmen

I was invited along to the Grand Social by the nice people at Indie Week this weekend to take some photos. Acts performing included:

Patrick Plunkett

Black Circles

The Matinee Idles

The Riptide Movement

These Electric Lives

Simon Fagan

I thought the night was very well organised and every act brought something different to the stage.

Well done to all involved!

I had the pleasure of working with Roy Shiels this week for a photoshoot at Naul in North County Dublin. Roy is a singer, songwriter, musician, photographer and also one of the nicest guys you can meet.

It was a case of rle reversal as Roy originally took some lovely portrait photos of yours truely with the chapman society a year or two ago!
